Hearts Abound....

 Yes, Valentine's Day is just around the corner.  And though I typically believe the holiday to be contrived and silly, catering more to the restaurant/flower/jewelry business (rather than the actual business of love), there is one thing that has me quite excited.  That clever little V-Day icon, the heart, has crept into the fashion industry.  Designers of all ranges and styles, from YSL to Rebecca Taylor to J. Crew, have incorporated it into their overall aesthetic, creating an aura of whimsy and playfulness.  Forget tacky, sappy and cliched, these fashion bigwigs know what they're doing.  Think bold colors, teeny prints, abstract styles, and retro references (80s for sure....didn't you have a pair of heart-shaped glasses as a kid??).   Below are some examples to whet your appetite:
